The initial work of this group has resulted in this white paper and provides a discussion of current best practices in the identification and treatment of ADHD with a focus on the screening, treatment, and release planning in the jail and juvenile correctional settings for persons who have ADHD. Its purpose is three fold:

  1. Guide policy makers in the use of resources for persons with ADHD
  2. Develop a plan for serving this population in jails and juvenile facilities consistent with evidence based and best practices
  3. Provide a brief review of the literature
